Echinocactus grusonii - or golden barrel - is probably the most well-known barrel cactus with its bright yellow spines. The golden barrel cactus is native to Mexico and thrives in full sun. Requires a minimum average temperature of 55 degrees F. Grows slowly to 3' tall, 3' in diameter. Suitable for growing in containers.
